Gun ideas

  • Blunderbuss
    • Big half life double barrel shotgun
    • Crazy knockback on rmb
    • Ammo?
      • Would be the only gun of its kind so ammo caches would be a little out of place

Combat introduction level

  • Should be a pretty simple arena with just the player and one other guy initially

  • Could be in small chambers leading up to first hub world

    • One room with one guy, then walk a bit
    • Another room with one guy, then walk some more
    • Arrive at hub world, where you get your first taste of combat with multiple enemies
    • Shouldn’t be able to exit the chambers until the enemy is dead - how to gate player?
      • Underground passage similar to where you get grapple hook
      • Locked gate - hole in ground that leads to passage - leads to other side of gate
      • Can skip the passage when revisiting the area
      • Show a bunch of defeated NPCs leading up to it - preferably the ones you just saw on the beach (they lasted all of 5 minutes in the jungle)
  • Pay careful attention to pacing

    • How much time should pass between the poob cutscene and the first enemy?
    • Just spent a lot of time platforming - probably good to break it up a little
